A perspective. My view of a different way of LIVING!

I never understood why a person decides to forgo the 'conveniences' that man has to offer such as the Amish do. Why suffer through cold winters when all a person has to do is turn up the themostat? In the summertime, why not sit under a cool air conditioner with feet propped up, cold glass of soda pop in one hand and the tv remote in the other instead of playing in the yard burning off calories or leaning over the fence talking to your neighbor about his beautiful thriving field of corn. Psalms 107: 37, "They sow their fields, plant their vineyards, and harvest their bumper crops."

If I want something to eat all I have to do is pick up my cell-phone and order a ooey gooey cheese pizza made by someone else' dirty hands. I mean, what is so great about eating the food you grown? It takes forever to ripen on the vine anyway. No, the 'other people' want to toil in the fields dust till dawn by the sweat of their brow. They do it the hard way. No gas powered tiller for them, thank-you very much. I have my fast food anyway. I just pull up to the drive-thru and order myself a heart attack in a bag. Psalms 107: 9 For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Umm, fast food is good for the taste buds right? right? helloooo?

I don't have time to feed the chickens, hoe the fields, make the same old boring clothes that never go out of style. I am to busy playing on the computer or working at some meaningless 9 to 5 job just to have money to pay all the bills that the 'other people' don't have. I don't have time to help my neighbor when he gets sick. Let him suffer on his own. I don't know him anyway, he never comes over for a visit. I read my Bible sometimes when I am not busy. Well, I do know atleast one of the ten commanments, " You shall love your neighbor as yourself" I think it is in Exodus.

Sure, they are all about family. The 'other people' don't practice birth control. My guess is they have so many kids so that they have enough hands to work in the fields. Got to feed those hungry mouths. Let them work their fingers to the bone. The only lesson those kids will learn is how to work hard for a living. As the Bible plainly states "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." 2 Thessalonians 3:10 I got family too, so be it that one is in another room texting and the other is out running the streets with his buddies. I got a good man. He just happens to be taking a nap cause he worked down at the factory making those modern conviences that his fellow man 'needs.' We'll all get together at a holiday maybe if the Lord lets us live another day. I have faith I will be here, He tells us so in Matthew 6:34 "Take no thought for tomorrow; for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself." Oops, guess I better do a more studying and less reading of my romance novels. Joshua 1:8 "Do not let this Book of the Law [Scripture] depart from you mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will become prosperous and successful."

I know what the Bible states about being vain {Proverbs 31:30} "....beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." But God, I need my make-up and my hair dye. I have to cover up these wrinkles and grey that I get from worrying whether the repo man is coming today and my house is going into foreclosure. I need my hot shower in the morning cause I stayed up all night wondering if tomorrow is going to be the big layoff day. I mean , I know God commands us not to worry {Philippians 4:6} “Do not be anxious [do not worry] about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." I pray about these problems; afterall we need a roof over our hand and my kids need food in the belly.

God isn't going to hand us everything on a silver platter. He provides us with a brain to know what we need do to survive in the world. We must work in order to eat. He gives us a spouse so that we will have a companion. He gives us children for they are a blessing to him. He gives us the rain to water our crops. He gives us what we need. (3 John 1:2)" Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.'

After my visit to an Amish community, I see that they are truly the happy ones. I am humbled by their hard work ethics. They have it all and all they need. I am ashamed of all the things I want and do not need. Lord forgive my selfish ways. Forgive me for I have sinned. Matthew 9:6 " But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins"

Stuck in the middle

So here I am. Stuck in the middle of four other siblings. What does it mean to by birth order? I would have hoped nothing since parents should not play favorites or treat their children any different one from the other. But, if one had of lived my life, then one would know that I in no way enjoyed being stuck in the middle. Most of the meaness my mom dished out was upon my head. Most of the ignoring by my dad was doled out to me. Can I say it was because I was stuck in the middle? I don't know, I was just a kid for goodness sake. Right now, at age 44 I am in the middle of trying to figure out who I am and my place in life. Being stuck in this position in life is hard but I will be postive and pull through. Afterall, at the great crossroads of life, "I took the one less traveled and that has made all the difference."
Quote by R. Frost, one of my favorite authors.

According to blogthings I am a Ceasar Salad type person
I am very popular (WRONG! not in the least) and easy to love. I strike a cord with people.I am friendly and careful not to offend anyone. (TRUE TRUE) I try hard to get along and while I may avoid controversy, I am still very sincere. People love that about me . I am dependable and steady. (yep, that I am) With me, what you see is what you get.

Well, that was an intersesting quiz. Who makes these things? Must be a psychiatrist!! Most of it is true except or the popular thing. Never have been and never want to be. I am just me. Now I am hungry. Where is my cook?...I WANT A SALAD!! LOL

What does summer mean to me

Summer is a time for relaxing on the front porch swing. I love peace and quite. I do not like stress. I love living in the country. This swing describes all three things about me 1) I live on a dead end street so this is one place I can relax and enjoy the peace and quite. 2) When I feel stressed I come here and just swing and enjoy the cool breeze and think of nothing. 3) I like to listen to the bugs, frogs and crickets playing their evening music. It is relaxing to watch the fireflies and star gaze. No place I would rather be than in the country!

Summer is a time for fresh fruits and veggies. One of my favorite meals is buttermilk cornbread, fried squash, fresh purple hull peas and a slice of juicy plump tomatoe. For lunch, take a couple slices of bread, mayo and a tomatoe. Dash with salt and pepper and now your eating a real country sandwich. It is hard work in the having a garden but I enjoy the fruits of my labor. I tried a planter garden this year and it did not produce much. Next year I will have a garden in the ground, the way I usually do.

Summer is also a time to enjoy water sprinkers, swimming pools, and camping at the lake. My children are grown now and have moved out so I thought these activities would be no more but ow that my grandson is older, he makes it more enjoyable. Just give him a dip in the water or an icee and he is one happy camper.
