BBC- Aug 29th

CONGRATULATIONS TO SPLUMMER> YOU WON THE DRAWING!
Since I will not be here for a couple days, I will go ahead and post today. If you are still reading this then you know that tomorrow is my day to give away a prize.

What are you? Do you like living in the city or the country? If you will look to the right of this post, you will see a poll. You must vote and you must also leave a comment here. Sorry, only BBC'ers are allowed to receive the prize.

I love the country. I was raised in the country and I will always live in the country. There is just something about sitting on the front porch with a good book and a cold glass of lemonade. Listening to the night life (ie, frogs, katydids, crickets, etc....my type of racket) I tried living in the city but I could not sleep due to the urban noise.

Ah, to feel the warm dirt between my toes after a freshly broke garden is soothing. And the harvest, who can resist fresh purple hull peas, corn on the cob, fried okra/squash, a piping hot slice of cornbread and big ole' plump juicy tomatoe on the side. Now that is my type of country cooking!!!

What is your reasoning for liking where you live? Please leave comments. Thanks

I love where I live. Have lived here for 27 years. It is right on the edge of the city. Until 5 years ago we were zoned country. Then the city rezoned and we are now in the city. But we are in the country to my way of thinking. We have about 2 acres of land. Our house is a 2 story brick farm house that is over 100 years old. But we are still close enough to the city that we have all the amenities of city life. The little town I live in is a rural farming town. With a couple of small factories. We love it here!!!

I'm a complete city girl! I just love having everything close by and so many entertainment options. I grew up (K-12th grade) on a military base that was teeny tiny, that was even 30 miles from a smallish town. I did not like it at all! I felt cooped up!

I love both! I was raised in the city but visited my relatives in the country often. Many summers were spent with my grandparents or cousins. The city offers so many amenities that the country doesn't. The country offers the peace and quiet that the city does not. My idea of a great day would be to wake up in the country go to work in the city and come back home to the country to relax in the peacefulness. It's so much easier to have animals in the country as well. Dogs need their space to run and romp. Both is definitely my answer to this question.
